Hi, I’m Louise Day
Avenue Celebrant Services started in January 2025, but the idea to be an Independent Celebrant has been in my thoughts for a number of years.
My name is Louise Day and I live in Essex. My background is in Press & Public Relations, although my last job was as an Unqualified Teacher in a primary school planning and delivering lessons to various ages.
Once a week I volunteer for Essex Therapy Dogs, where my Cockapoo Maple and I visit a High School to spend time with students with educational and emotional needs, and a care home to visit residents and residents living with Dementia.
To see the happiness my little dog brings to others is wonderful! I’m also a Mum. I love films, books and music. And I dance often … usually alone, when no one is around. Try it. It’s such a boost.
Why did I become a celebrant?
Writing brings me a lot of joy, and being an Independent Celebrant enables me to write about life and about people – writing someone’s story and sharing that story with the people close to them, whether it be for a funeral, a wedding celebration, a vow renewal or a naming ceremony, is such a privilege. Not only that, to help guide someone through the hardest of times or through the happiest of times is such an honour. It’s important to me to provide a service for people where they do not fear judgement.
Please contact me. I would love to have a conversation about how I can work with you to create the most beautiful ceremony.
