Hi, I’m Louise Day (She/Her)
Avenue Celebrant Services started in January 2025, but the idea to be an Independent Celebrant has been in my thoughts for a number of years.
My name is Louise Day and I live in Essex. My background is in Press & Public Relations, although my last job was as an Unqualified Teacher in a primary school planning and delivering lessons to various ages. I volunteer for Essex Therapy Dogs, where my Cockapoo Maple and I visit a care home to visit residents and residents living with Dementia. Other visits include a High School to spend time with students with educational and emotional needs, and to Girl Guiding and Scouting groups. To see the happiness my little dog brings to others is wonderful!
I’m also a Mum. I love films, books and music. And I dance often … usually alone, when no one is around. Try it. It’s such a boost.
Why did I become a celebrant?
Writing brings me a lot of joy, and being an Independent Celebrant enables me to write about life and about people – writing someone’s story and sharing that story with the people close to them, whether it be for a funeral, a wedding celebration, a vow renewal or a naming ceremony, is such a privilege. Not only that, to help guide someone through the hardest of times or through the happiest of times is such an honour. It’s important to me to provide a service for people where they do not fear judgement.
Please contact me. I would love to have a conversation about how I can work with you to create the most beautiful ceremony.
